Wood Welded® Locker Benches are made as a solid wood butcher block panel. They are constructed using northern hard Maple harvested completely within the confines of the United States and manufactured at our factory in Bally PA.. The wood is dried in our kilns to a moisture content of between 6% and 8% with a target of 7%. This provides the best stability for most interior environments. The blocks are glued with a PVA adhesive which is strong and flexible and provides the highest level of durability in an environment that sometimes has fluctuating humidity levels. Our Durakryl 102 finish is a Ultra Violet light cured Urethane finish that provides superior moisture impedance while maintaining the touch-ability of wood. Too much finish and a wood panel becomes plastic like and too little finish and it will not provide enough protection for the wood to be stable. Durakryl 102 threads that needle.The combination of proper drying, superior gluing, and expert finishing puts our benches in the sweet spot in terms of being an approachable, functional and durable bench top.
The locker benches come standard with a 3/8″ radius on the top and bottom edges and all 4 corners.
