End Grain Island Tops
Simple end grain tops are a wonderful way to bring a piece of butcher block into your home. These tops are very similar to the end grain Double Dovetail. The difference being the Dovetail itself. This top does not feature the double dovetail and therefore modern production methods are used. This saves cost creating a great value to you. These tops are especially nice for the gourmet chef. The end grain will treat your expensive cutlery gently keeping the end sharp and reducing the need for re-sharpening.

Black Walnut End Grain Island Countertop
Black Walnut makes a very impressive and beautiful end grain top. The natural variation of the sap wood to heart wood is very dramatic indeed. Sap wood in Black Walnut is very light which is suprising to many people. The Black Walnut many people are familiar with has been stained to even out these color variations. We like it just the way nature provides it. The top you see here has been mineral oiled and accentuates the deep browns of the walnut. This top was placed on a white painted base and is a wonderful example of a free standing piece of kitchen furniture.
